According to TBSF:
“BE THE 1－Donor Recruitment Campaign” is a global campaign launched by Abbott Laboratories, which invites Cristiano Ronaldo, captain of Seleção Portuguesa de Futebol, to be the blood donation spokesman.
Its vision: “It is hard for recipients to find 100% matchable blood and it is not only the problem of blood types. Each donator is different, while their blood may be the only “one” of a kind that helps another person on earth. Let Cristiano Ronaldo be our model and encourage your friends to donate. Help them realize their capability of influence on one another.”
After negotiation, TBSF has been fully authorized by the projecting headquarter, from which Ronaldo’s image will appear in Taiwan and hopefully urge more people to be donators in Taiwan.
Cristiano Ronaldo, the UEFA Best Player in Europe Award and the three times FIFA Ballon d'Or(s), has now brought Portugal the 2016 European Championship. With such achievement, Ronaldo can undoubtedly charge an astronomical number of money for commercials or his image.
However, He also makes a name for himself as “the man of charity” in the sports world. He has engaged in several well-known campaigns. For example, to promote fund-raising for a brain-deformation surgery, he once wore a haircut with “lightning, scar-like” streaks. In another case, he is the ambassador of the project “Save the Children” that helps the poor fight against hunger. In addition, he is also the man who raise money for amputees suffered in the Afghanistan War.
What is more, Ronaldo is 100% entitled to be the blood donation spokesman with his perseverance for years. Many football players have tattoos, except Ronaldo. He realizes that people with tattoos cannot donate their blood within a year, so he must keep himself away from this “decoration” to donate blood regularly and save more people. Based on his perseverance, the Real Madrid man is no doubt the most convincing international ambassador of blood donation.
It is a precious chance to be authorized by Abbott Laboratories and make Ronaldo our image of blood donation. We appreciated the help and promotion of Chinese Taipei Football Association (CTFA). Its committees posted information about the “BE THE 1” campaign not only during football match but also on its official website, from which CTFA surely created a win-win situation for football and blood donation.
